My husband and I had our first son in the hospital and made the decision to avoid the intramuscular Vitamin K injection. This decision made a hospital circumcision unavailable. This was extremely difficult for us, and the outpatient process through our pediatrician also required intramuscular Vitamin K. Our lactation consultant reached out with the referral for Dr. Tomlinson at SafeCirc®. He was easy to reach, and we had an over-the-phone discussion about our situation. He was more than happy to accommodate our wishes, as they have a well-established protocol for taking care of patients who have not received IM VitK. Our appointment was easy to make, and the consultation left both of us feeling comfortable and happy with Dr. Tomlinson as our choice. He fully explained the process and what we could expect from his quick and highly effective procedure. My husband stayed and was able to see the process and how well our son was taken care of. The process was quick and professional, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. Dr. Tomlinson was clear and helpful regarding the aftercare, which had no issues at all in his recovery. My husband and I got the recommendation to go to SafeCirc® from my midwife, who had heard great things about them from her other clients. Dr. Tomlinson was thorough, patient, caring, and informative about what their office had to offer. He was supportive and not judgmental while helping us understand the options that we have as new parents. This was not how we felt at the hospital, in our case, Women and Infants, where they require your child to receive the Vitamin K shot in order to be circumcised at their hospital. While trying to decide what was right for our son, we felt extremely pressured and judged by the staff when we would even ask questions about the vaccine. When we decided not to receive it, some of the staff became rude and would continue to push us in an uncomfortable way. While I was back admitted in the hospital for preeclampsia, my husband brought our son to Dr. Tomlinson, and I was so confident in their services because it had been so well explained, and I knew he had the support of their staff. Not only did they do an amazing job, but my husband brought my son to see me at the hospital for the day immediately after, and it appeared he was not in the slightest bit of pain. Before our follow-up appointment, he had completely healed, and throughout the process, the doctor had followed up and checked in. He truly cares and is passionate about what he does. I would 10/10 recommend their office to the people that I love. I have friends in the medical field who have confirmed that the hospital lets whoever is on shift do the procedure for your son. I also have friends who have had the hospital mess up on the procedure, and the nurse at the hospital said they had messed up on her grandson two weeks prior. The hospital refused to do a circumcision on my son due to an abnormal foreskin. The only option we were given was to wait 6 months and put him under anesthesia so a urologist could complete the procedure. Only when we found out the urologist wouldn't take our insurance were we given the SafeCirc® Center's information. We called and made an appointment the same day. After seeing the facility and speaking to Dr. Tomlinson, we felt comfortable having him complete the procedure. Everything went well, and we are so grateful we did not have to wait and put our baby under anesthesia. Dr. Tomlinson took the time to explain the procedure in detail. The center has a homey, clean, calm feel, and the viewing room was a wonderful option to have. Baby slept soundly on the way home (we traveled over an hour) and recovery was quick & easy. We have since recommended the center to my son's doctors and nurses in hopes that other families will have the chance to choose SafeCirc. — Alyssa

We are so grateful that our birth and breastfeeding classes led us to the knowledge of Dr. Tomlinson and Safe Circ. We opted to keep our baby's gender a surprise and knew that circumcision was something to discuss in the event of having a son. My husband called the clinic on a Saturday, expecting to leave a message. Not only was his call answered, but it was Dr. Tomlinson himself. He was genuinely excited for my husband and me, was incredibly thorough in explaining the process and procedure, benefits, and took the time to answer my husband's questions. Remembering our due date, he reached out via text a few weeks later to check in on us. When we got home from the hospital, my husband followed up, and Dr. Tomlinson called and spoke with both of us to schedule our son's appointment, but first made certain he answered all of our questions and again, thoroughly explained everything. He was very dedicated to ensuring our knowledge and comfort. Dr. Tomlinson is a huge proponent of ensuring a breastfeeding baby has the chance to develop that strong relationship with the mother before circumcision rather than disrupting the success of that process. Our Lactation Consultants spoke in great support and honest disbelief that a Circumcision Specialist understood the value of this. They were thrilled. Dr. Tomlinson's facility is immaculate. He is a true professional, and his accolades are impressive. We are lucky to have him in our little gem of RI. He is incredibly caring, detail-oriented, and committed to patient wellbeing, satisfaction, and an excellent experience. Dr. Tomlinson is an incredible value to new and expecting parents. We only wish that everyone received the knowledge of him and his process that we did in our birth and breastfeeding classes. We are so grateful to have found Dr. Tomlinson following the home birth of our baby boy. We had been stressed about rushing into the procedure before establishing breastfeeding and having adequate time to bond, so having the flexibility of taking a few weeks to focus on this first was important to us. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Tomlinson and the service he provides. From the first phone call, he is kind, thorough, and patient. I already had hesitations about doing the procedure in the hospital, and a labor & delivery nurse recommended him as an alternative. I was glad to have the time to do some research and bond with my baby, and complete the procedure when my baby was 9 days old. The practice is clean, warm, and inviting. I felt comfortable knowing I had options for either viewing the procedure or removing myself if needed. He took more than enough time to educate my husband and me on what to expect and all possible outcomes, regardless of how rare. I felt well prepared for home after care, which is what I was most nervous about. I also take comfort in knowing I can reach Dr. Tomlinson anytime after the procedure. He took the time to check in a few days afterwards, and we have a follow-up a few weeks later- a service not provided by my OB/delivery team. He is truly passionate about patient care. The non-traditional setting allowed us not to feel rushed or like we were just a number, like in many physician offices. I'm lucky enough to live within 20 minutes of SafeCirc, but I'd recommend the practice to anyone in drivable distance, and would use him again in the future- it is truly worth the peace of mind. — Rachel D.

Our experience with Dr. Tomlinson and SafeCirc®was fantastic, and we would encourage anyone wanting to circumcise their child or even researching whether to circumcise to reach out to SafeCirc. In our case, we knew we wanted to circumcise our newborn adopted son, but our circumstances being adoptive parents made it difficult to do so immediately after birth, or before we returned home to Rhode Island. This certainly became a blessing in disguise, as we are so grateful for our experience and outcome with Dr. Tomlinson. The detailed videos about the procedure and statistics on outcomes made the choice a simple one. Dr. Tomlinson specializes in this field and utilizes patented equipment that makes the process more seamless and safe than having this done in the hospital. The facility was brand new, clean, comfortable, and easy to get to. Upon arriving, Dr. Tomlinson greeted us and immediately showed us the care and compassion every parent wants when putting their child in someone else's hands- answering all of our questions and ensuring we were at ease with the procedure. Dr. Tomlinson's dedication carried straight through aftercare as he was available 24/7, even answering our questions on the weekend and proactively checking in with us to see how our son was healing. The outcome was fabulous: from avoiding potential health issues to the aesthetic result, we could not be more pleased. Dr. Tomlinson and his team at SafeCirc® are incredibly attentive and caring people. We met with Dr. Tomlinson for a consult and educational session prior to our son's birth, when we didn't even know we were having a son. He educated us on the history and health benefits of circumcision, and walked us through the attentive care that his newborn patients receive. I was grateful for his time. I was relieved and happy that we could have the procedure a week after birth, instead of hours. I had always felt anxious thinking about having my son experience that type of trauma mere hours after birth, without me by my side. That worry dissolved at SafeCirc®. I could see and hear my son and the doctor during the entire procedure, and I was able to breastfeed him immediately after, too. SafeCirc® was recommended to my husband and me by SCH, and we immediately felt at ease during our initial phone call with Dr. Tomlinson. He was charismatic, informative, and friendly. When we went in a few days later, he started the appointment with a presentation outlining the details of the procedure, which was educational, insightful, and comforting. If you are an anxious first-time mom like me, who spends hours researching everything down to the microscopic detail, please take my word that you can stop your search here. Something didn't sit right with my husband and me when it came to conventional procedures. We wanted reassurance, access to information, an opportunity to truly understand the practice, and an opportunity to ask questions about benefits, risks, and healing. We needed to know that pain management and comfort were a priority, and that we were opting for the least invasive procedure available. We wanted access to a professional who cared if there was a problem, and someone who didn't make us feel bad for reaching out with the 3rd question of the day (or night). Dr. Tomlinson offers all of this and more. We drove from New Hampshire to access this level of care, and if we have another son, we will absolutely be making the drive again! I strongly believe that the hospital grossly failed my family and my son. The care provided at the hospital left my son with lifelong complications. This is the part of our journey where SafeCirc® came in. I can't express how thankful I was to be connected with Dr. Tomlinson. I reached out at 5 pm on a Thursday, and Dr. Tomlinson picked right up. He attentively listened to my concerns and had us come meet him in the clinic the next morning at 8 am. Dr. Tomlinson so wonderfully explained everything he was going to do during the exam and calmly educated us as to what we were looking at. “I cannot recommend Dr. Tomlinson enough. He was recommended to us by our pediatrician after we elected not to have our son circumcised at Women and Infants. Dr. Tomlinson was extremely passionate and thorough before, during, and after the procedure. At one point during the healing process, I was nervous about something and sent him a text at 9pm not expecting to hear back until business hours. He immediately gave me a call to talk to me about my concerns and reassure me. This meant so much to us as nervous first time parents! We had a wonderful outcome with SafeCirc®! We were unable to circumcise our firstborn son in the hospital due to his being born 2 weeks early. Our pediatrician recommended SafeCirc® to us. It was very easy to make an appointment, and we were able to circumcise our son before he was 2 weeks old. Dr. Tomlinson is easy to communicate with and reviewed all of the risks/benefits of the procedure. We were able to view the procedure from the viewing window. Wound care was super easy, and Dr. Tomlinson frequently checked up on us. After 2 weeks, everything healed beautifully! Would definitely recommend using SafeCirc® for your newborn son's circumcision. The only regret I have about meeting Dr. Tomlinson is that it didn't happen sooner. I was given his information after my newborn son had unfortunately undergone a botched circumcision in the hospital. As a first-time mom, the results of his procedure were devastating, and the thought of meeting another Doctor was paralyzing. Upon my first phone call to SafeCirc, I was pleasantly surprised to reach Dr. Tomlinson directly, and he was extremely caring and sensitive to all of my needs and questions I had about my next steps. He kindly met my son and me in the clinic the very next week, and the care and guidance we received was truly top-notch. We were treated like family, and he was so wonderful with my baby. He gently evaluated our first results, and though they are less than favorable, he lovingly and confidently reassured me that they can be revised, and he was happy to refer me to a competent team that I know will take good care of my son. He took such time and consideration while educating me on the history, benefits, and every question I could have had about circumcisions. None of this information or care went into our first procedure, and I only wish I had known about Dr. T and his center of excellence before we had the procedure performed in the hospital. Our son was recently circumcised by Dr. Tomlinson, and we cannot say enough positive things about him and the SafeCirc® Center. I first met Dr. Tomlinson when I was working at South County Health and always found him to be extremely kind — so when our pediatrician recommended we go see him for our son's circumcision, I immediately felt at ease. I contacted the clinic on a Wednesday, and we were seen the following day, first thing in the morning. Dr. Tomlinson talked us through the procedure as he was doing it, and we were able to watch through the viewing window. As a first-time parent, it was so nice being able to see and hear what was going on vs. being in a hospital setting. We're so grateful for the patience, expertise, and support Dr. Tomlinson provided us when we were deciding whether or not to circumcise our newborn. Dr. Tomlinson is the absolute best —you cannot go wrong trusting him with your son's circumcision. Not only is his method safer and more precise than the typical procedures you see in hospitals, but Dr. Tomlinson also goes above and beyond with a 30-minute or so history lesson and general overview as to why circumcision is a good choice. Did you know the Egyptians practiced it thousands of years before modern medicine? We also really appreciated Dr. Tomlinson checking in with us later that evening, as well as the next day - a level of commitment most won't find within hospital care. If we have another boy, we will absolutely be back to see Dr. Tomlinson — not only for the top-notch care for our little one, but for the lunch recommendations following the 2-week check-up appointment! :) Best day-date eating oysters on the water, any new parents could ask for! — Anne Lenihan

My wife and I are incredibly grateful to have found Dr. Tomlinson, especially considering we live in New Hampshire, which is about a two-hour drive each way to his clinic. While the distance might seem daunting, it was a non-issue for us because we were specifically looking for a provider we could trust to perform our son's circumcision safely and professionally. Our OB provider offered the Plastibell method, but I wasn't comfortable with that approach given the lack of experience and the potential for complications. After researching options, we found Dr. Tomlinson, and we are so glad we did. From the very first contact, Dr. Tomlinson was nothing short of kind, patient, and attentive. He took the time to listen to our concerns and addressed each one thoroughly. It was immediately clear that he was the provider we could trust to perform the procedure with the utmost care. Our son was born prematurely, and Dr. Tomlinson went above and beyond to check in with us multiple times, ensuring everything was progressing well. We had to cancel the procedure at the last minute due to other medical issues, and Dr. Tomlinson was incredibly understanding and accommodating. On our first visit to the clinic, my wife was understandably anxious, and we ultimately decided to hold off on the procedure for a little while. Dr. Tomlinson was very patient and not at all pushy. He took the time to explain the procedure, its benefits, and potential risks several times, answering all of my wife's questions and offering reassurance when needed. Once my wife did more research and we felt ready to proceed, we re-booked the procedure, and once again, Dr. Tomlinson was kind, professional, and more than willing to help us through the process. On the day of the procedure, Dr. Tomlinson took the time to explain everything once more and answer any final questions we had. His approach was both thorough and compassionate. The procedure itself was quick and seemed entirely painless for our son. Dr. Tomlinson was diligent in providing us with clear aftercare instructions to ensure our son's recovery was as smooth and fast as possible. What truly impressed us was how Dr. Tomlinson continued to check in after the procedure. He provided his personal cell phone number so we could reach out directly if we had any concerns, which was invaluable given the distance we live from the clinic. He was always prompt in responding to our questions, making us feel supported every step of the way. We cannot recommend Dr. Tomlinson highly enough. His expertise, combined with his genuine, caring bedside manner, made a potentially stressful experience much easier than we could have imagined.
